( a note to the mods ) : I didn't want you guys to think I was crazy. My health problems have gotten considerably better, and I feel like, although Finn wasn't working out, I took too much off my plate, so I'm adding a little.

Canon: Common Law
Original or Alternate Universe: Original
Canon Point: The end of the series
Number: RNG me please!
Setting: The setting is Los Angeles, California, USA, regular Earth. It's just a cop show set in modern day, so the setting is really no different from normal LA, except maybe that the PD is lax in their rules.
History:
Travis was left on the firestation's steps, with only a Cabbage Patch doll with him. The doll's name said 'Travis', so that's what they called him. He grew up living in foster homes, being bounced from home to home. When he was younger, a guy was not giving his foster mom child support, so he stole his car. Wes says that the guy never missed a payment again. Sometime growing up, he lived with Money's family (Money is later seen working at a sort of legal garage, and helps Wes and Travis with a case). Travis' romantic rendezvouses seem to have been as early as his teens from a story he told Wes. He grew up, went to college, then the police academy, and started working in Narcotics. Travis spoke while Wes was in the police academy, but other than that, they had never met. While practicing at the shooting range, David "Paekman" Paek, a mutual friend, introduced Wes and Travis. Wes and Travis had the same theory on a case about murdered prostitutes on skid row. Together, they solved the case and managed to become partners in the Robbery-Homicide Division. Though they worked well together, Paekman was the only one who kept them sane. Grateful for him introducing them, they sent some cases Paekman's way. Paekman caught the attention of the Special Investigations Section.
Somewhere around (before, I think, the timeline is confusing) this, Alex and Wes divorce, though Wes is still in love with her and clings to her desperately. Paekman is busy and doesn't contact Wes and Travis for a while until one day he calls them and says that he thinks the guys in SIS are bad, that they're lining their pockets. He heard 'We bought off Henry' and a date 'August 22nd'. He's worried. Wes and Travis try to calm him down and tell him they're coming. When they arrive at the scene, Paekman is dead. They start looking into SIS, and they don't like what they find. They find a witness that says a man matching John Crowell's (the man in charge of SIS) description shot Paekman. The case got dismissed when the witness disappeared. One day, Crowell showed up at RHD, leaning over to whisper 'I killed Paekman' and gloat in Travis' ear. Travis got so angry that he started to grab his gun and follow him as if he were going to exact revenge. Wes is unable to verbally or physically stop him, so he trains his gun on Travis in the station and warns him that he will shoot if he takes one more step, trying to stop him from making a horrible decision and essentially sacrificing his career for Travis. Though, after he's arrested and sent to court, explaining why he did it, he and Travis must go to couples' therapy to try to keep their partnership together, and they must stay away from John Crowell and SIS. Now, we're at the beginning of the show, where Wes and Travis bicker and blame each other for everything, doing childish things like arguing with each other's testimony in court and throwing chairs out windows. They are initially resistant to therapy, but as the show progresses, they find that it actually helps them.
In the first episode, Wes and Travis learn more about each other through a therapy questionnaire. Travis has a girlfriend, though he seems to have problem kissing her in front of Wes. It's obvious that Travis uses the station as a dating pool. We meet Money, and see the strong bond between him and Travis. Wes and Travis break up when Wes blames a leak in the case on Travis, but make up with each other when Wes apologizes, and Travis leaves his girlfriend for Wes (not like that. Like for the case.) The leak came from Brady, not Travis. They solve the case and redeem themselves. In the second episode, Dr. Ryan, their therapist, follows them around work to further observe their relationship. Wes spends the whole time trying to hand her off or leave her behind, not liking her analyzing them and reluctant to take part in therapy. Travis spends the episode sucking up to her and fighting with Wes. Wes follows Travis’ advice and gets a car with all the features Travis wanted, which shows how much Wes likes Travis. In the third episode, they investigate the murder of a woman who was into online dating. While investigating, they discover that Alex is on the dating site. Wes gets jealous and butts into her business. Travis helps him check out one of her dates and is outraged when he's kissing another woman. They solve the case, andTravis signs Wes up on the dating website.
In the fourth episode, We met Phil, Travis' ex-police partner. He left him for Wes. Travis is nervous, but Phil genuinely seems to forgive him... until he gives Travis and Wes a false lead, “boning” them, as they say in therapy.Wes defends Travis when someone says he’s weighing Wes down, though Travis doesn't know it. In the end, they take the high road and share the credit for closing the case. In the fifth episode, they try to learn about trust together. Travis’ foster brother is involved in a string of robberies, and Wes and Travis have a good bonding moment when they talk about siblings or lack thereof. When Travis and his brother have each other at gunpoint, Wes shoots the brother in the shoulder. Travis says he would have taken the shot, and Wes says he knows, but he was there so he didn’t have to. In the sixth episode, Wes and Travis experience performance anxiety over a big arrest number. Travis goes over the case with another detective and Wes gets jealous.
In the seventh episode, Wes and Travis roleplay as each other. They start out as caricatures, but soon learn things about each other. They learn that Wes needs Travis to be Travis so he can be himself, and vice versa. In the eighth episode, they learn to share and about responsibility when sharing responsibility for a dog. Travis In the ninth episode, they move in an apartment together to watch a suspect. Travis loves it, and everything Travis does is driving Wes crazy. Wes explodes in therapy, and Travis is angry he kept it all in and ambushed him in therapy. They fight, and Travis is mad Wes isn’t backing him up on his theories. In the end, Wes says he’ll back him up from now on. Travis also reveals he takes care of his place more because he knows no one can take it from him.
In the tenth episode, they work with their old mentors. Travis uses Wes’ words from a therapy session to stand up to his mentor, and he also tells him that Wes is his partner, and therefore was going to interrogate the suspect with Travis. In the ninth episode, a case surrounding Dr. Ryan’s fiancé turns up, and Wes and Travis are ordered to stay away. Of course, they don’t listen. Dr. Ryan’s fiancé ends up in trouble, and Dr. Ryan is so angry at them for ignoring her orders that she will no longer see them as a therapist. In the twelfth episode, they tell Dr. Ryan they’ll tell her about why Wes pointed his gun at Travis if she’ll take them back. They go through and tell her all about their past with Paekman and what happened. They figure out that the date is for then, where SIS is going to hit, and who Henry is. They take Crowell down successfully, which got rid of their previous suspensions. That also means that they didn’t have to go to therapy anymore, but they voluntarily decide to keep doing therapy.
Personality:
Travis is an extremely charming, charismatic man. He wins over ladies, witnesses, foster moms, about anybody really, with his boyish grin and smooth words. In the pilot, Dr. Ryan says he could charm himself out of about any situation. He also charms a mom they're interviewing by holding her baby and getting him to stop crying. In the second episode, he charms a new police officer woman at a crime scene. He's also a really flirty person. Wes says he treats the station like it's a dating pool. He flirts with ladies non-stop, such as the lady police officer, the tech girl, Kendall. It's also arguable that he flirts with Wes, with things like calling him baby and remarks he makes like 'We don't split up, we can't screw up, baby.' He likes to flirt, and it adds to his charm, can get them places, and gets him laid. It can also close doors and offend people.
He's also a pretty darn loyal person, to his friends and family. He helps Paekman get a better job with SIS. He was so upset by Paekman's murder that he (maybe) almost killed Crowell in revenge for him. Whenever he and Wes break up, they always get back together, and Travis is always willing to work things out. He kept Wes as a friend even after he pulled a gun on him. When he's making out with his girlfriend (now ex), he leaves her because his friendship with Wes is more important. It's also very telling, in the ninth episode, Travis is mad because he always backs up Wes on stuff and Wes didn't do the same for him. He also hides that his foster brother might be one of the suspects in a case from Wes, trying to figure it out on his own because it could ruin his brother. He does have problems with relationships, but he's a damn loyal friend and family member.
Travis has a terrible temper. In fact, so does Wes. It makes their relationship fiery and out of control sometimes. They argue with each other constantly in about every episode, throw punches and throw each other through glass like in the pilot when they're fighting over the leak and Wes thinks it was Travis' fault, throw chairs out windows like is described in the series. His temper also really flares when it's about his friends. For example, he (maybe) almost killed Crowell when Crowell bragged that he killed Paekman. Wes also had to hold Travis back from getting in a fight with Crowell when they came across him again. He also got really angry at Wes for holding back his feelings and ambushing him in therapy. While his temper is easily flared by Wes, it can be provoked pretty much any time.
While Travis is constantly surrounded by coworkers, family, or lovers, he's afraid of being alone. It's why he constantly surrounds himself with these people, but fails to have any deep, meaningful relationship (from the words of their therapist, although it's arguable that he and Wes' relationship is like that.) People make him feel better and give him energy. While Wes chooses solitude to ruminate, Travis chooses company. It's arguable that he feels like he can't make meaningful relationships without being hurt, after being bounced from foster home to foster home. It's why he leaves in the morning after sex; he's the one leaving, he's the one in control. They can't leave him if he leaves them first. He's also not good about cleaning unless it's his place. He knows no one's going to take his home from him now, and so he cares more about it.
His motivations in life are complicated and yet not. He cares about his job a lot. He wants to save and help victims. He wants to live, and get laid, and he wants his people (foster moms, Wes, etc) to be safe and happy. Translate that to Ataraxion, and I'd say his motivations in game are going to be to stay alive, get laid, and keep people safe. He also has a motivation to get home, as his family is back home. As for relationships, important people in Travis' life are Wes, his foster families, Alex (Wes' ex-wife), Captain Sutton, Dr. Ryan (their therapist), Kendall (the tech at the station), Jonelle (the coroner), Kate and Amy (two other detectives), and Phil (his ex-partner). We'll start with the easier ones and work toward the more complicated relationships. Phil he has a bad history with (Travis ditched him to be partners with Wes), and Phil is bitter about it, trying to exact revenge by sabotaging them in a case. Wes and Travis end up on top, though they're the better people and still give Phil and his new partner lots of credit. Kate and Amy are kind of like Statler and Waldorf, making smart comments in a friendly way. Jonelle is Travis' ex-lover, and jokingly threatens to kill him a lot. Kendall is buds with Wes and Travis, and they rely on her for information in their cases. Dr. Ryan is their therapist, and they have a love-hate relationship with her, as she pushes them hard, but they actually end up staying in therapy when they don't have to at the end of the series. She is their voice of reason. Travis and Wes trust their boss, Cap Sutton, a lot. He's always got his detectives' backs, and encourages them in therapy, as well as overshares about his sex life. Alex is Wes' ex-wife, and Travis and Alex like to gossip about Wes. It really offers Travis some insight into Wes, while giving him some things to make fun of. He and Alex are good friends.
Now for the complicated: Wes. They have an intense friendship. Ever since they met, it's like when they're good, they're really really good. When they're bad, they're really really bad. An example of the good is all their cases. They just work together like clockwork. An example of the bad is like their fight in the pilot. They can get physically forceful with each other, which isn't healthy for two adult men, really. They always seem to boomerang back to each other, though. Their friendship is way more important than fighting. They actually agree to go to couples' counseling to save their partnership, more than Wes was willing to do to save his marriage. They fight constantly, but they work great together.
Abilities, Weaknesses and Power Limitations:
Abilities
-He can shoot anything from a Glock 17 to a Colt M4 Carbine and is a sharpshooter
-Detective skills. He's good at detecting things, good with people, getting information, etc.
-Athletic. He's good at sports, can run quickly, etc
-multilingual: English, Spanish, and Samoan at least
Weaknesses
-His police partner is like his other half. He's off without him.
-Romantic rendezvouses. He sleeps with people and doesn't call them the next day, ignores them, runs from relationships. That can get people angry.
-Risky. He takes a lot of risks, which can be dangerous.
-Anger. He's got quite a lot of anger problems.
-Cocky. He's pretty cocky, which leads to risks, which leads to danger.
Travis has no powers.

It was a while before Travis woke. It was a lazy Sunday morning, Travis was in a warm bed, a beautiful woman next to him-
-oh crap. That was a lot of alcohol they had last night. And he could feel it when he whipped up in bed. It's not the first time he'd ended up in bed with someone and it wouldn't be the last, but he really hadn't meant to. He was always doing shit like this, doing stuff without thinking. After all, this wasn't just some woman he'd slept with. It was one of his friends on the Tranquility.
He'd made quite a few friends on the Tranquility already. Built up a small family of his own. But still, he couldn't quite let people in all the way, panicking and bailing at the last minute. It was the story of his life. He wished Wes were here. He's the only person he'd really opened up to, really committed to sticking with. And it really felt like he was missing a part of himself, no matter how much he didn't want to admit that.
Still, this was about him and his friend. He valued her friendship, he did. But the fear was strong. He slipped on his underpants and jeans quietly, grabbing his shirt and jacket. And he did what he always did: run.

[Travis turns on the video, adjusting it to capture his face and giving it a grin.] Hey, 'sup? Travis, here. I know it's been rough lately, and that's why you people need to relax. We're throwing together a party on level 7. Be there or be square. Bring your party hats. Party Rock is in the house tonight. Etc, etc.
Oh, and I still need a date. So if any of you lovely ladies are free... you know where to find me! [Another quick grin and he's outtie~]
